Punjab constitutes committees to check development works under Mukh Mantri Pendu Vikas Yojana

Punjab Government has constituted committees in every district to keep a close check on quality of works of different ongoing
projects under Mukh mantra Pendu Vikas Yojana to be executed at a cost of Rs 1977 crore.
An official spokesperson of the Rural Development and Panchayats Department informed that various development projects were being
in progress under Mukh Mantri Pendu Vikas Yojana (Rural Mission), which would be now oversee by a committee formed under Deputy Commissioner in each district . He said that committee would comprise of Deputy Commissioner , Additional deputy Commissioner .
The spokesperson said that under Rural Mission basic amenities were being provided in villages including roads, bridges , surface
transport , setting up of rural infrastructure , water supply , sewerage , drainage system , internal roads , streets , lights , solid waste management , parks and grounds etc.
