To perpetuate the glorious legacy of Sikh panth replete with countless selfless sacrifices , the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash
Singh Badal gave the approval to erect a memorial to eulogize the supreme martyrdom of great Sikh martyr Baba jai Singh Khalkat at his native village Baran in Patiala district at a cost of Rs 10.50 crore.
A spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the Chief Minister asked the organizing committee under the Chairmanship
of former Cabinet Minister Mr. Sewa Singh Sekhwan to execute this project on the fast track. He also directed the Secretary Rural development and Panchayats to get the estimate of the project verified from Technical Advisor to Punjab Government Gen. (Retd.)
